The DreamCloud Premier Rest is more expensive than other models by the brand. However, it is still affordable compared to other luxury hybrids

DreamCloud is a mattress company that focuses on making high-quality hybrid mattresses that are competitively priced. In addition to the DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress, the company sells two other hybrid mattresses – the DreamCloud Mattress and DreamCloud Premier Mattress – and also produces bases, bedding, and pillows.

The DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress is the brand’s highest-profile model. It has a medium (5) feel and measures 14 inches thick due in part to its plush pillow-top and six-layer design.

We’ll analyze the construction, materials, performance, pricing, sizing, and policies to help you decide if the DreamCloud Premier Rest is the best model for you.

Side Sleepers

The DreamCloud Premier Rest is a great option for most side sleepers. The plush comfort system includes a pillow-top and a 2.5-inch polyfoam comfort layer, which cradle and cushion the body, including pressure-prone areas like the hips and shoulders. Meanwhile, the polyfoam transition layer and pocketed coil core gently support the sleeper to help them maintain good posture.

This mattress is particularly suitable for side sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds. The Premier Rest can also accommodate heavier and lighter side sleepers. However, some individuals who weigh less than 130 pounds could experience slight pressure buildup, and those who weigh more than 230 pounds could sink in too deeply around their hips and shoulders.

Back Sleepers

The DreamCloud Premier Rest is suitable for back sleepers. The pillow-top and 2.5-inch polyfoam layer hug a back sleeper’s hips, while the steady support from the polyfoam transition layer and the coil core promotes proper spinal alignment.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers generally need a firmer sleep surface than the DreamCloud Premier Rest provides. Since this model has a medium feel with a plush pillow-top, it’s unlikely to give the support that stomach sleepers need to keep their spines aligned and prevent soreness. Most individuals will likely sink more deeply around their midsections, putting pressure on their lower backs. The exception is stomach sleepers under 130 pounds, who generally don’t sink in far enough to experience these issues.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

8.5/10

The Premier Rest excels at preventing motion from spreading across its surface. This is partially due to its foam comfort system, which consists of four distinct layers capable of absorbing vibrations. Additionally, the coil core makes the surface springy, but each coil moves independently to impede vibrations that may otherwise travel across the layer.

If you are highly sensitive to movement and your partner tosses and turns, you may notice minor vibrations. However, the high degree of motion isolation is effective for most sleepers who share the bed.

Pressure Relief

6.5/10

The Premier Rest Mattress offers ample pressure relief, outperforming many hybrids of comparable quality. Its plush pillow-top and comfort layer provide substantial cradling, especially around the shoulders and hips. Meanwhile, the transition layer and support core prevent the sleeper from sagging too deeply into the mattress to help keep the spine aligned throughout the night.

Temperature Control

7.5/10

Thanks to its design and materials, the Premier Rest regulates temperatures well. The temperature control starts with the cover, which uses a cashmere-blend fabric designed to wick away heat and moisture while letting air circulate. Polyfoam comfort and transition layers also allow more airflow than similar designs that employ memory foam, and the coil core is highly breathable.

Most sleepers, including those prone to overheating, should be able to maintain a comfortable temperature on the Premier Rest.

Edge Support

7.5/10

The Premier Rest has fairly good edge support, which primarily comes from the pocketed coil system. Some pillow-top mattresses sag along the perimeter due to their plush surfaces, but the edges of this mattress stand up quite well in comparison.

Ease of Movement

7/10

It is relatively easy to move around on the surface of the Premier Rest. The mattress has a medium feel and uses mostly responsive materials, so sleepers shouldn’t experience the stuck-in-the-bed feeling common in mattresses with thick layers of memory foam.

The comfort system consists primarily of polyfoam, which regains its shape quickly when the sleeper moves. Additionally, the coil core gives the mattress noticeable bounce. This combination facilitates easy movement across the surface of the bed.

Off-Gassing

7.5/10

Because the Premier Rest includes foam layers there may be some off-gassing when you first take it out of the box. This is true of virtually all mattresses that contain foam. Off-gassing comes from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from production, the odor of which cannot escape when a mattress is compressed for shipment. However, the Premier Rest’s off-gassing should be relatively mild and short-lived, in part because it is made with CertiPUR-US certified foam and has a breathable design.

As with any new mattress, you may want to let the Premier Rest air out in a well-ventilated area before sleeping on it.

DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Review Breakdown

The Premier Rest is a pillow-top hybrid model. Layers of soft foam give the mattress a plush feel, while a substantial pocketed coil core provides durable support. The result is a combination of cushioning and pressure relief with a feel that registers as a medium (5) on the firmness scale.

At 14 inches tall, the Premier Rest is a high-profile model. This may make it easier for some individuals to get into and out of bed, particularly if they’re taller or use a low-profile bed frame. However, the mattress may require deep pocket sheets.

A cashmere-blend cover encases the Premier Rest. This material is naturally moisture-wicking and helps with ventilation and temperature control. Two foam comfort layers quilted into the pillow-top give the sleep surface extra loft and plushness. The top layer consists of 1-inch of memory foam for close contouring, while the second layer uses 1-inch of polyfoam for greater responsiveness. Combined, these layers cradle and cushion the body.

Under the pillow-top, a 2.5-inch polyfoam comfort layer further enhances the pressure relief and a 2-inch polyfoam transition layer is engineered to deepen the contouring while limiting sinkage.

The support core consists of 8.5 inches of individually encased coils. Wrapping each coil in a fabric pocket helps the mattress respond quickly to movement while decreasing motion transfer. In addition to offering support, the coil system adds bounce and helps ventilate the mattress for better temperature regulation. The entire mattress rests on a base layer of polyfoam, which reinforces the coil support system.

The foam used in this mattress is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning it passed an independent certification process for content, emissions, and durability standards.

DreamCloud will help coordinate the donation or removal of the unwanted mattress. Exclusions may apply.

Warranty

The DreamCloud Premier Rest comes with a limited lifetime warranty. If DreamCloud determines the mattress has a qualifying defect within the first 10 years, the company will replace it at no charge. After year 10, the company will elect to either repair or replace a mattress if it finds an eligible defect and also waive transportation charges.

Covered defects include sagging or impressions in the surface that are over 1.5 inches deep, as well as flaws that cause the foam to split or crack. Normal wear and tear do not constitute a basis for repair or replacement. Damage due to abuse, misuse, neglect, or improper support is not covered. This policy applies to original mattress owners who purchased through authorized sellers.
