The Honey Hybrid Mattress’ combination of latex, microcoils, and pocketed coils creates a responsive surface rather than isolating motion.
The springs in both its microcoil layer and core are individually wrapped, cutting down motion transfer to an extent. However, sleep partners may still notice vibrations on their side of the bed when the other person moves.
This resilient quality is typical for mattresses with latex and coils. These models are designed to provide bounce, so they rarely absorb movement as well as all-foam beds.

Pros & Cons:
Sweet Zzz is a mattress and bedding manufacturer that uses materials with environmental certifications for greater sustainability. The California-based retailer started in 2013 and currently offers a range of accessories, including sheets, pillows, weighted blankets, and mattress protectors. The company makes one mattress model: the Honey Hybrid.
Our team put this medium firm mattress to the test in our sleep lab. We examined its materials and construction thoroughly to assess its quality and durability. We also reviewed the Honey Hybrid Mattress’ performance by putting it through a series of rigorous assessments.
You’ll learn how this model responded during pressure relief, motion isolation, and temperature control trials. You’ll also discover which type of sleepers liked this mattress most so that you can decide if it’s the best mattress for your sleep style and body weight.
Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
The Honey Hybrid is a medium firm mattress that has a thick comfort system that offers pressure relief for many side sleepers. However, its performance varied widely in our tests based on the sleeper’s body weight.
The side sleepers on our team who weigh under 130 pounds reported that their hips and shoulders were a little sore after sleeping on this model due to its medium firm (6) feel. Those between 130 and 230 pounds sank more deeply into the latex and microcoil layers for noticeable contouring. However, they still reported some pressure buildup.
The best mattresses for heavyweight sleepers, particularly those who sleep on their side, tend to be medium-firm. The latex cradled our testers in this weight group without letting them sink too deeply into the mattress. The microcoils further adapted to each sleeper’s body shape to decrease the impact on pressure-prone areas.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers across weight groups may find the Honey Hybrid comfortable, but its combination of pressure relief and spinal support is generally best for those between 130 and 230 pounds. The wool cushions the surface, while the latex and microcoils mold to the lumbar area to promote healthy posture.
The Honey Hybrid Mattress may be a bit firm for some back sleepers under 130 pounds and a bit soft for some over 230 pounds. Testers within these weight groups still found this model a decent choice, but it didn’t strike the perfect balance of comfort and support.
Stomach Sleepers
Overall, this mattress is a worthwhile choice for stomach sleepers, who often struggle to find a mattress with adequate support. The latex and microcoil layers have enough give to prevent the surface from feeling hard, but they also limit sinkage and sagging that could otherwise jeopardize spinal alignment. By keeping stomach sleepers atop the mattress, the Honey Hybrid helps ensure that their spines stay on an even plane throughout the night.
During testing, our team members under 230 pounds reported an appealing blend of cushioning and support. Those over 230 pounds liked the mattress but noted that they would have preferred a slightly firmer feel for more midsection support.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid Mattress Breakdown
The Honey Hybrid Mattress from Sweet Zzz has a medium firm feel that ranks as a 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale. It has five total layers for a combined height of 13 inches. Many of its materials are organic or sustainably sourced, and it holds Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), USDA Organic, Climate Neutral, and eco-INSTITUT certifications.
The mattress has a quilted cover made from organic cotton for breathability and softness. Next, a layer of organic wool acts as a natural fire barrier while adding cushioning and wicking away heat and moisture.
Two layers make up the bulk of the comfort system. The first is a 1-inch layer of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex that relieves pressure while responding quickly to movement. Its rubber-like resilience contours to the sleeper’s body and springs back to its original shape quickly when they move, giving the surface a somewhat bouncy feel.
Beneath the latex, 4 inches of pocketed microcoils redistribute weight to help prevent pressure points. Each coil also responds individually to weight variations, making this an excellent surface for couples with different body types or preferred sleep positions.
An 8-inch pocketed coil system serves as the support core. These tempered steel springs are individually wrapped and reinforced at the edges for stable support across the full mattress surface. The final layer is a thin wool and cotton blend that anchors the mattress and increases durability.

Mattress Prices and Sizing
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid is very competitively priced given its materials and construction. Hybrid mattresses and latex mattresses are generally more expensive than all-foam and innerspring models. This is especially true of those that include organic materials.
Despite its GOLS-certified organic latex comfort layer and dual-coil design, the Honey Hybrid falls within the average price range for hybrid models. Given its quality materials and construction, we also expect the model to have a longer-than-average lifespan.
While the price may be out of range for shoppers on a tight budget, it’s an excellent option for those looking for a reasonably priced, high-quality bed made with natural materials. SweetZzz makes this model in six sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king.
