The OkiSoft is one of four beds available from OkiOki, an online mattress brand. This all-foam mattress offers a medium feel which corresponds to a 5 out of 10 in terms of firmness. OkiOki also makes the OkiEasy, OkiFirm, and OkiFlex beds.

Since the OkiSoft features an all-foam construction and offers a medium feel, the mattress is best suited to people who weigh less than 230 pounds. This bed particularly excels at relieving pressure and promoting spinal alignment in side sleepers.

As the name implies, the OkiSoft feels very plush. The mattress conforms closely and “hugs” the body. The OkiSoft is a good choice for sleepers who enjoy sinking deeply into the bed rather than feeling like they are sleeping on top of it.

In this review, we share details about the OkiSoft’s performance, analyze the bed’s materials and construction, and provide information about OkiOki’s sleep trial and warranty policies. Read on to find out whether the OkiSoft is the best mattress for you.

Side Sleepers

OkiOki specifically markets the OkiSoft to side sleepers. The bed’s medium feel and close contouring are well-suited to this sleep position. Most side sleepers will experience even alignment, but those who weigh more than 230 pounds will probably require a firmer mattress.

Firm mattresses tend to create pressure points in side sleepers. When the hips and shoulders can’t sink into the mattress a bit, these areas may fall out of alignment with the spine. This can cause discomfort for side sleepers, particularly in the hips, shoulders, and neck.

Back Sleepers

Whether or not a back sleeper prefers the OkiSoft Mattress largely depends on their weight. Back sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds will probably find the mattress comfortable. The mattress provides the lumbar support needed to maintain a flat surface with minimal sagging.

The best mattresses for heavier sleepers are generally pretty firm. Most back sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds will likely prefer a firmer mattress. The OkiSoft, which rates 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, may not provide enough lumbar support for back sleepers in this weight group.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds receive adequate support on the OkiSoft. Like back sleepers, heavier people who use this position don’t receive enough support from the mattress. Stomach sleepers generally need a firmer mattress than side sleepers to prevent their body from sinking too too deeply, which can cause pressure points to occur in the neck and upper back.

Stomach and back sleepers, especially those weighing more than 130 pounds, should consider other OkiOki mattress models. Both the OkiFlex and OkiFirm offer firm feels that rate as a 7 and 8 on the firmness scale, respectively.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

/10

Like many memory foam mattresses, the OkiSoft isolates motion well. Memory foam is known for absorbing motion and minimizing transfer across the surface.

Motion isolation is an important quality for people who share a bed. When a bed isolates motion well, sleepers are less likely to be disturbed by a partner, child, or pet moving on the surface during the night.

Pressure Relief

/10

Pressure relief is a major strength of the OkiSoft Mattress, though a sleeper’s experience will depend on their body type and preferred position. The mattress offers a medium feel and close conforming to cradle the spine, support alignment, and alleviate pressure around the shoulders and hips. These qualities make it particularly comfortable for side sleepers.

Back and stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds may also feel less pressure on the OkiSoft, but heavier people who use these positions will probably sink more and find the mattress less comfortable. These sleepers often need a firmer and more supportive mattress to reduce their pressure points.

Temperature Control

/10

Because of its all-foam construction, the OkiSoft Mattress tends to trap heat. Memory foam is known for holding onto body heat, and the polyfoam support core does not promote very much airflow compared to a coil system or ventilated latex layer.

Sleepers who tend to sleep very hot might want to opt for a cooler mattress. Although the mattress is encased in a cover of “Ice Yarn cooling fabric”, the bed might still absorb too much body heat for some people.

Edge Support

/10

Like many softer all-foam beds, the OkiSoft doesn’t offer very strong edge support. The edges might buckle or fold when someone puts their body weight on or near them.

Edge support is important because it determines how much of the surface of a mattress is usable. Since the OkiSoft’s edges are soft, some sleepers might not be able to sit or sleep on the edge of the mattress without fear of sliding off.

Ease of Movement

/10

Since the OkiSoft Mattress conforms so closely, movement across its surface can be difficult at times. Over time, the ultra-soft memory foam comfort layer may lose shape and develop indentations from the sleeper’s body. These impressions make it difficult to sit up or roll out of the mattress, since they take a few seconds to “bounce back.”

A bed that inhibits movement doesn’t pose a problem for all sleepers. Some people lie down and remain in one position throughout most of the night. However, sleepers who move more often in their sleep might experience disruptions if they have trouble rolling over. A mattress that inhibits movement can also make sex difficult.

Off-Gassing

/10

The OkiSoft emits an off-gassing odor when it is removed from its packaging. These smells may persist for a few days, but they will eventually dissipate.

Off-gassing is the result of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) releasing from newly manufactured products. The initial odor from all-foam mattresses tends to be stronger than the smells from other mattress types. Most people aren’t terribly bothered by off-gassing odors, but people who are particularly sensitive to smells should avoid the mattress the first day or two after it has been opened.

OkiSoft Mattress Review Breakdown

The OkiSoft is an all-foam bed with a medium (5) feel. The mattress measures 10 inches thick, so any standard sheet set should fit it.
Customers interested in other firmness and thickness options can choose from OkiOki’s three other mattresses:

  • OkiEasy: 11 inches thick, medium (6)
  • OkiFirm: 10 inches thick, firm (8)
  • OkiFlex: 11 inches thick, firm (7)

The OkiSoft Mattress is constructed with 3 inches of memory foam. This comfort layer “hugs” the body, resulting in close conforming. Sleepers who want to sink into their mattress rather than feel like they’re resting on top of it will likely prefer the OkiSoft over the other OkiOki beds.

The OkiSoft’s materials and construction make the mattress particularly well-suited to side sleepers in particular. This mattress cradles the body and promotes even spinal alignment. That said, most sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds will probably want to opt for a firmer, more supportive bed.

Mattress Prices and Sizing

The OkiSoft is priced affordably compared to other all-foam mattresses, making it appealing for shoppers on a budget.

Generally, all-foam beds like the OkiSoft are priced lower than hybrid and latex mattresses. This can be attributed to cost differences for mattress materials, as coils and latex tend to be more expensive to produce than foam.

Although all-foam beds generally cost less, they aren’t as durable as hybrid and latex beds. Customers looking for a mattress with a longer lifespan should consider a latex or hybrid model instead.
