Foam easily absorbs impact from movements. Since the Nolah Signature has an all-foam construction, it isolates motion as well as many foam models on the market. The medium surface is plush and conforms closely, resulting in a generous “body hug.” This allows the comfort layer to absorb motion fairly well and minimize transfer across the bed.
You may feel some movement when your partner gets in and out of bed or shifts positions throughout the night, especially if you are a light sleeper. However, the foam should absorb motion effectively enough to greatly reduce these types of disturbances.

Pros & Cons:
Nolah sells an extensive line of mattresses, bedding, pillows, and bases, with mattresses varying in profile height, firmness level, and construction. The Nolah Signature, also known as the Nolah Signature 12, is one of the company’s all-foam models and has the plushest feel of all Nolah mattresses. With a medium (5) firmness level, the Nolah Signature features layers made of AirFoam, Nolah’s proprietary polyfoam material that combines the contouring of memory foam and the responsiveness of latex. The Nolah Signature conforms to the shape of the body without causing the sleeper to sink excessively.
Nolah offers several other mattress models, including the all-foam Nolah Original 10 and the hybrid Nolah Evolution 15. The Nolah Signature, which we focus on in this review, has a mid-range price-point and a plushness that sets it apart from the other Nolah models.
Our comprehensive breakdown of the Nolah Signature includes details on its construction and pricing. We’ll highlight how its firmness level performs and make recommendations based on body weight and sleeping position. This review includes verified customer feedback and details on the company’s policies.
Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
Side sleepers press their hips and shoulders into the mattress. Foam responds proportionately to pressure, which cushions these areas and keeps the spine aligned.
The Nolah Signature is excellent for side sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. Sleepers in this category need a soft to medium mattress in order to sink in enough and experience the conforming benefits of the mattress. This reduces pressure on the shoulders and hips. Side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds also benefit from the bed’s medium feel. The transition layer keeps these sleepers from sinking in too far, while the comfort layer provides good cushioning for the shoulders and hips. Side sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds will likely find this bed is too soft.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers keep a neutral posture as they sleep but need an even, supportive surface to maintain spinal alignment. Conforming foam, like the AirFoam used in the Nolah Signature, benefits the lumbar region and relieves pressure on the back.
With its medium firmness level, the Nolah Signature is a good fit for back sleepers who weigh up to 230 pounds. It conforms enough to reduce tension but the firmness of the AirFoam keeps the spine aligned. The bed is likely too soft for back sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds. If the lower back presses into the mattress too much, it can lead to spinal misalignment.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers usually prefer a firmer sleep surface to keep the hips from sinking in excessively. Stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds should find enough support from the Nolah Signature to keep their bodies on an even plane. The medium feel will cushion the shoulders and chest while properly supporting the hips. However, stomach sleepers who weigh 130 pounds and more may find the mattress is too soft to promote healthy body posture during sleep. Their bodies may sink deeper into the surface, which can result in misalignment of the spine and other areas.

Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Nolah Signature Mattress Review Breakdown
The Nolah Signature has an all-foam construction with four layers and an organic cotton cover, adding up to a slightly higher-than-average profile of 12 inches.
The organic cotton cover of the Nolah Signature wicks away moisture. The cotton is unbleached and is not treated with any other harsh chemicals.
The mattress has a thicker-than-average comfort layer and a transitional layer, which help the mattress relieve pressure and conform closely. The 2.5 inches of plush AirFoam cushion the body and reduce tension. AirFoam is more resilient than memory foam, so it returns to its original shape more quickly. The 1.5-inch polyfoam layer beneath adds extra reinforcement to prevent sleepers from sinking too deep, which helps keep the spine aligned.
Beneath the comfort layer is a 1-inch transition layer made of polyfoam that is firmer than the foams used higher up. This enhances reinforcement to prevent excessive sinkage. The support core is a 7-inch layer of high-density polyfoam that provides durability and support for the entire bed.
AirFoam has an open-cell structure that allows the mattress to regulate temperature better than traditional viscoelastic memory foam by dissipating heat. As a result, the Nolah Signature runs cooler than the average all-foam bed.

The Nolah Signature is available in standard sizes twin through California king, as well as a split king for adjustable beds.
