Founded nearly 30 years ago, Majestic Beds designed its first mattress specifically for the healthcare industry, aiming to make chemotherapy more comfortable for cancer patients. The company’s current mattress lines also focus on comfort and pain relief.

The Majestic Series includes the Majestic Embrace, the Majestic Plus, and the Majestic Solution I. Each mattress is designed to target particular health issues, such as back pain or arthritis. Because of this, each mattress features a slightly different construction.

We will explore the benefits of the Majestic Plus Mattress, an all-foam bed created for pressure-sensitive sleepers experiencing back pain or discomfort in the hip and shoulder areas. We will discuss the performance of the mattress for various body types and sleep styles, as well as its pricing, sizing, and construction. We will also offer information on the bed’s trial period, along with shipping and warranty information. Read on to find out whether the Majestic Plus is the best mattress for your needs.

Side Sleepers

The best mattresses for side sleepers are generally of a medium firmness and conform close to the body. The medium firm feel and responsive foam design of the Majestic Plus work well for side sleepers, who put a lot of pressure on their shoulders and hips while sleeping. This bed’s foam comfort layer closely contours to the body in those key areas, relieving pressure on the hips and shoulders and helping sleepers to maintain proper spinal alignment through the night.

Side sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds receive excellent pressure relief and support from the Majestic Plus. These sleepers respond best to the medium firm bed’s construction, sinking slightly deeper into its surface for increased contouring.

Those weighing less than 130 pounds also enjoy good support and a comfortable sleep experience with the Majestic Plus. However, these sleepers may benefit more from a slightly softer, more contouring mattress.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers don’t require the same level of contouring as side sleepers because their sleep position doesn’t focus intense pressure on sensitive areas of the body, such as the shoulders. However, back sleepers still need appropriate support, especially in the lumbar area.

Soft mattresses may cause a back sleeper’s abdomen to drop too deep into the mattress, misaligning the spine. Very firm mattresses barely conform at all, which can also cause spinal misalignment.

With its slightly contouring foam layers, the medium firm Majestic Plus hits a good balance of firmness that suits most back sleepers. The softer foam comfort layer combines with the dense polyfoam transition layer and support core to prevent too much sinkage and help the sleeper maintain good posture.

The mattress works best for those weighing between 130 and 230 pounds. However, all back sleepers should receive adequate comfort and support from this mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers typically respond best to firm, supportive mattresses with little to no sink. That means stomach sleepers generally get the best sleep experience from all-foam mattresses, which tend to respond to body weight by enveloping the sleeper.

Because of its dense, supportive polyfoam, the Majestic Plus offers a firmer feel compared to many similar foam mattresses, making it a good fit for stomach sleepers of all body types, as it promotes proper posture while still offering comfortable cushioning.

While the best mattresses for heavier sleepers are generally quite firm, even stomach sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds, who often need a very firm mattress for the best support, won’t sink too deeply into this versatile mattress’ foam surface.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

8/10

The contouring layers of gel-infused foam in the Majestic Plus provide good motion isolation, making this mattress a great choice for anyone who shares a bed.

The cradling foam responds to body weight and absorbs movement, resulting in less disturbance for sleep partners.

Whether you share your bed with a spouse who tosses and turns or a pet that gets in and out of bed at odd hours, this all-foam mattress’ ability to limit motion transfer can help create a peaceful sleep experience with minimal disruption.

Pressure Relief

8/10

The Majestic Plus is specifically designed to conform to the body and provide significant overall pressure relief.

The bed’s foam layers, especially the gel-infused foam comfort layer, gently cradle the body in typical problem spots, such as the shoulders, hips, and lumbar area, helping the sleeper maintain proper spinal alignment.

This pressure relief can benefit side, back, stomach, and combination sleepers. However, the mattress’ construction offers the best pressure relief for side sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds and back sleepers weighing between 130 and 230 pounds.

Temperature Control

5.5/10

The Majestic Plus’ proprietary gel-infused foam and breathable, cooling fabric cover encourage air to flow through the mattress, making this foam bed better for hot sleepers than many comparable foam mattresses.

Edge Support

7/10

Due to the conforming nature of foam, the edges of an all-foam bed tend to sag when weight is applied, such as when you sit or sleep toward the edge of the bed. The Majestic Plus is no exception, with only fair edge support.

Ease of Movement

5.5/10

Constructed with responsive polyfoam that resumes its shape quickly and offers medium firm support, the Majestic Plus is designed to allow sleepers to easily change position and move across the mattress. In fact, this bed performs better than many comparable all-foam beds in this area.

Off-Gassing

6/10

Like many all-foam mattresses, the Majestic Plus produces a fair amount of off-gassing, which means it emits volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at a fairly high rate for a short time after being removed from its packaging. This can lead to an unpleasant odor.

There are no known health risks when it comes to off-gassing, but the smell can be unpleasant until it dissipates, which usually happens within a few hours to a few days.

Majestic Beds Majestic Plus Mattress Review Breakdown

The multilayered foam comfort system in the medium firm (6) Majestic Plus gently contours to the body to relieve pressure at key points, such as the shoulders, hips, and lumbar area, while remaining firm enough to properly support the spinal alignment of almost any sleep style or body type.

In addition to providing pressure relief, the Majestic Plus is also designed to keep sleepers cool. The four-way stretch cover works with the comfort layer’s gel-infused foam to encourage breathability and dissipate heat. Beneath the proprietary gel-infused foam layer, a transitional polyfoam layer increases the bed’s responsiveness, minimizing the sinking feeling common in many foam mattresses. Finally, a high-density polyfoam support core stabilizes the mattress, adding durability and increasing the bed’s height.

With less of an enveloping feel than many comparable all-foam mattresses, this bed allows sleepers to move easily, which is good for active sleepers and for sex. However, its foam design also cushions movement, limiting motion transfer across the bed’s surface, so sleep partners can move around without disturbing each other.

Mattress Prices and Sizing

Available in sizes ranging from twin to split California king, the Majestic Plus meets the needs of a wide range of sleepers, and its performance and versatility make it suitable for any body type or sleep style.

However, while the Majestic Plus is comparable in price to many other luxury foam mattresses, its high price-point means it may not fit within some shoppers’ budgets. That said, the Majestic Plus is made with high-quality materials that may lead to a longer lifespan than other, lower-priced options.

To make its beds more accessible, Majestic Beds offers third-party financing through Klarna.
