The Frontier Hybrid is one of two Logan & Cove mattresses made by GoodMorning.com, an Edmonton-based company that manufactures and sells its mattresses exclusively in Canada. In addition to Logan & Cove models, GoodMorning.com also sells the Juno value mattress, Douglas Alpine and Summit all-foam mattresses, Brunswick hybrid mattress, and Recore latex mattress, as well as foundations and bedding accessories.

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid stands out for its luxurious Euro-top design and strong coil-on-coil support system. Adaptive foam and minicoils create a cradling, contouring sleep surface, while zoned pocketed coils provide targeted reinforcement to heavier areas of your body and push back against compression along the perimeter. Our team has determined this mattress is medium firm, or a 6 on our 10-point firmness scale.

Side Sleepers

As a medium firm foam hybrid, the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid provides moderate contouring without hugging the body too tightly. Side sleepers on our testing team who weigh at least 130 pounds received adequate cushioning from the mattress. This is key for promoting even alignment and supporting the shoulders and hips, two areas of the body that are prone to sharp pressure points for people who prefer the side position.

Due to its relatively firm feel, side sleepers under 130 pounds may not receive enough padding from the Frontier Hybrid. This demographic typically needs a plusher, more adaptive mattress that closely cradles the body. We recommend a softer hybrid or all-foam model for these sleepers.

Back Sleepers

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid earned positive ratings from back sleepers across all weight groups, but those weighing 230 pounds or less were particularly impressed. Gentle contouring and sturdy coils with zoned midsection support should allow most back sleepers to lie comfortably and receive adequate lower back and hip support.

Although back sleepers don’t struggle with poor alignment issues as much as side sleepers, sufficient support is key for a good night’s rest. Most back sleepers prefer medium to medium firm mattresses that feel stable around the midsection and provide moderate cushioning. The Frontier Hybrid checks all of these boxes.

Stomach Sleepers

When testing the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid, most of our stomach sleepers weighing up to 230 pounds found the mattress comfortable and did not sink to an excessive extent. Foam hybrids can be hit or miss for people who regularly use the stomach position, but the Frontier Hybrid’s zoned coil system generates enough pushback to resist deep compression beneath the midsection. Stomach sleepers over 230 pounds also gave the mattress positive ratings, but they sank a bit more than their lighter counterparts.

Evaluating mattresses for stomach sleeping is tricky because this position is associated with more aches and pains than side or back sleeping. Lying face-down can cause the mattress to compress more because most people carry a disproportionate amount of weight in their stomachs. Models with zoned coils like the Frontier Hybrid can correct this issue by pushing back against the weight.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

6/10

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid is constructed with a top layer of adaptive polyfoam over minicoil and pocketed coil support layers. These components collectively produce a strong bounce when you get in and out of bed. While this can help you move across the surface, the extra springiness may lead to some motion transfer.

Our team found that the foam layers temper the coils a bit, so the Frontier Hybrid won’t feel as responsive as a traditional innerspring, but if you’re a light sleeper — or your partner frequently tosses and turns — you may experience sleep disruptions.

Pressure Relief

6.5/10

The Frontier Hybrid’s daptive foam layers and gentle minicoils work together to reduce pressure points. Targeted lumbar support also reduces pressure buildup in the lower back. Our hands-on tests indicate the mattress is especially well suited to people who weigh 130 to 230 pounds.

Since the mattress is medium firm, it contours to a moderate extent and won’t cradle the body like a softer model with memory foam. This can benefit people who weigh 130 pounds or more, but lighter people — side sleepers in particular — may not receive enough cushioning to reduce their pressure points.

Temperature Control

8/10

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid offers very good temperature control due to its breathable components. These include a top foam layer infused with cooling gel intended to dissipate heat from the surface, and two coil layers that promote steady air circulation throughout the interior. Our tests confirm the mattress absorbs very little heat and maintains a comfortable temperature for most people.

Hybrids generally sleep cooler than all-foam mattresses because their coil systems generate more airflow than solid foam. The Frontier Hybrid’s dual-coil construction ensures even more airflow than the average hybrid model.

Edge Support

8/10

Edge support proved to be a major strength of the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid during our tests. While the perimeter buckled a bit for some of our testers weighing over 230 pounds, most of us felt little to no sinkage. The support core’s reinforced perimeter coils deliver strong pushback, and the foam layers are also somewhat responsive.

Innersprings and hybrids tend to perform best in the edge support. A growing number of these models have incorporated reinforced coils to increase perimeter support even further. This helps ensure you can use your entire sleep surface, and that you’ll feel stable lying close to the edges or getting in and out of bed.

Ease of Movement

6/10

As with edge support, ease of movement is one of the Frontier Hybrid’s defining strong points. The topmost foam layer is more responsive than traditional memory foam, and both coil layers enhance this quality to create a surface that’s fairly bouncy. Some of our testers who weigh more than 230 pounds had some trouble moving on the mattress, but most of our team encountered little to no resistance.

Ease of movement has implications that extend beyond getting in and out of bed. A bed that facilitates movement also helps you change sleep positions without feeling stuck, and can make the surface more comfortable for sex. Hybrids, innersprings, and all-latex beds tend to perform best in this category.

Off-Gassing

6.5/10

Some customers may notice a faint odor when the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid is first unboxed. Commonly called “off-gassing,” this originates from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that synthetic foams release into the air.

Off-gassing is usually considered harmless. If you are bothered by the smell, you can let the mattress air out overnight. The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid’s foam produces some minor odor, but strong airflow through the coils reduces the initial smell.

Logan & Cove Mattress Review Breakdown

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid features a Euro-top surface cushioned with adaptive polyfoam, which makes the mattress feel somewhat plush when you get into bed. A cooling gel infusion in the foam helps dissipate heat away from your body while you sleep. Minicoils and transitional polyfoam provide additional cushioning to the comfort system while pushing back against your weight and keeping your body on an even plane.

The support core contains steel coils. Each coil is encased in fabric, allowing them to move independently of one another — this cuts down on motion transfer without diminishing overall support. Thicker coils rest beneath your midsection to deliver enhanced bodily support. The perimeter is also reinforced to stabilize the edges when you get in and out of bed.

A breathable knit cover with a quilted top surface encases the mattress. At 13.5 inches thick, the Frontier Hybrid is considered a high-profile model and may require a fitted sheet with deep pockets.

Most sleepers prefer mattresses that fall between 5 and 7 on the 10-point firmness scale, so it’s no surprise the Frontier Hybrid earned favorable ratings from the majority of our testing team. Coil-and-coil designs like this one have also proven popular with sleepers who need extra support from their mattress.

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid is only sold in Canada. It is available for purchase through the Logan & Cove website.

Shipping

Customers in provincial Canada enjoy free shipping with FedEx, with an extra fee for some remote locations. Usually, mattresses are shipped out within 3 to 5 business days and take a further 1 to 5 business days to arrive at your home.

The bed is shrink-wrapped and compressed for shipping. To unbox the mattress, simply remove the plastic and let it expand on your bed frame.

Additional Services

White Glove delivery and old mattress removal are not offered with the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid.

Sleep Trial

Logan & Cove offers a 365-night sleep trial with a mandatory 30-night break-in period. Customers who return the mattress during this time frame receive a full refund with no extra fees. Logan & Cove advises customers to keep the plastic during the sleep trial so it can be reused if the mattress is returned. The company donates returned mattresses to charity, or arranges for them to be recycled where that is not possible.

Warranty

The Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid carries a 15-year non-prorated warranty from GoodMorning.com protecting against workmanship and material defects. Defective mattresses will be repaired or replaced free of charge at the company’s discretion, and replacement or repaired mattresses will have a warranty equal to the remainder of the original mattress’s warranty. To qualify for coverage, customers must unbox the mattress within 2 weeks of delivery.

The warranty covers measurement discrepancies of more than 1 inch, as well as permanent body indentations of at least 2 inches and physical flaws that cause splitting or cracking in the foam. The warranty covers damaged fabric or seams that are the result of faulty workmanship, but it does not extend to frayed threads, discoloration, pilling, pattern stretching, or other signs of wear and tear.

Folding, jumping, standing on the mattress, or storing it upright will void the warranty, as will machine washing, drying, bleaching, and dry cleaning any mattress components. The mattress must be used with an appropriate foundation as described in the mattress warranty. Mattresses that have been subjected to improper use or handling, damaged during a move, or exposed to a surface that allows moisture build-up do not qualify for the warranty.

Damage that results from abuse, misuse, or failure to properly care for the mattress, including burns, tears, stains, cuts, and other such damage, will void the warranty. The warranty does not cover normal increases in softness, allergies or other personal health issues, comfort preferences, problems that are due to the height of the mattress, bent border wires where these are caused by mishandling, mattress handles, or mattresses that have been used in commercial or institutional settings.

Customers should submit corresponding photos and measurements along with the warranty claim. Only original purchasers of a new mattress with the law tags still attached qualify for warranty coverage.
