Leesa offers an array of mattresses that cater to different sleep preferences and body types. The Leesa Plus Hybrid is a hybrid model that combines the sturdiness of coils with the cushioning of foam layers on top. With its medium firm (6) feel and balanced construction, the mattress is suitable for a variety of sleep preferences and sleep positions. It stands out from other Leesa mattresses with slightly firmer foam layers and enhanced edge support that caters to sleepers who need extra support.
We evaluated the Leesa Plus Hybrid in our test lab, focusing on key performance metrics like motion isolation, pressure relief, and temperature control. We evaluated the bed’s comfort level for sleepers with various sleep preferences and sleep positions. We also looked at how this bed compared to the competition in terms of cost and construction.
Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
The best mattresses for side sleepers offer strong cushioning at the shoulders and hips to prevent painful pressure buildup. Our testers found the Leesa Plus Hybrid offers enough contouring to satisfy most side sleepers’ needs.
The three-layer comfort system includes an inch of gel-infused polyfoam to cushion pressure points and gently cradle the sleeper’s body. With two additional layers of polyfoam, the mattress allows side sleepers to sink in just enough to receive pressure point relief while maintaining healthy spinal alignment, especially for those weighing over 130 pounds. The coil support core responds to the body for gentle pressure relief while offering plenty of support for a side sleeper’s lower back.
Back Sleepers
Our testers were impressed with the Leesa Plus Hybrid’s ability to maintain spinal alignment and support the lumbar region in back sleepers. The triple layers of polyfoam gently contour to the spine, while the coils in the support core offer sturdy support to prevent excessive sinkage. This is crucial for back sleepers, who need ample support for the lower back.
The mattress is a very good fit for back sleepers up to 230 pounds, since it offers an appropriate balance of cushioning and support for this group. For those over 230 pounds, the mattress may feel slightly less supportive. These sleepers may sink uncomfortably deep into the bed.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers require a mattress that’s firm enough to support their midsection and prevent the hips from sinking too deeply, ensuring the spine remains in a neutral position. Our testers found the Leesa Plus Hybrid was suitable for certain stomach sleepers depending on body weight.
For stomach sleepers under 130 pounds, the Leesa Plus Hybrid offers a very good balance of pressure relief and support for the midsection. During testing, the bed’s medium firm feel provided adequate pushback to keep the body on an even plane. Stomach sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds will experience more give, especially around the hips, which may lead to poor sleep posture. Stomach sleepers over 230 pounds will sink too deep to receive proper support and will likely prefer a hybrid with a firmer feel.
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
When it comes to motion isolation, we found the Leesa Plus Hybrid’s foam comfort system absorbs a fair amount of motion. When a sleeper shifts positions or climbs into or out of bed, the foam layers help reduce transfer of movement across the surface.
The coil system does create some bounce, making motion transfer somewhat noticeable. While co-sleepers might experience some disturbances when their partner moves, these disruptions are relatively minor when compared to traditional innerspring mattresses. Overall, the Leesa Plus Hybrid combines the contouring properties of foam with the responsiveness of springs to provide decent motion isolation, even though sleep partners might notice some motion transfer.
The Leesa Plus Hybrid offers moderate pressure relief, making it suitable for a wide range of sleepers. The three-layer comfort system, consisting of gel-infused polyfoam followed by two additional layers of polyfoam, plays a key role in pressure relief. These foam layers contour to the body’s curves, providing cushioning that helps alleviate pressure buildup around areas like the shoulders and hips. This contouring is especially beneficial for side sleepers.
The 8-inch coil system offers ample support and gives the bed a responsive feel, but the contouring is not as substantial as it would be in a softer bed. As a result, the mattress might not offer the deep cradling and pressure relief that some sleepers prefer.
The Leesa Plus Hybrid has very good temperature regulation, making it a strong choice for those who often sleep hot. Our product testers were impressed with how cool this model felt, even with a thick foam comfort system. The gel infusion in the top foam layer is intended to draw heat away from the body and works in tandem with the breathable polyester and viscose cover.
The coils in the support core enable strong airflow. This air circulation helps reduce heat retention within the mattress, ensuring a cooler and more comfortable sleep environment.
We found the Leesa Plus Hybrid offers impressive edge support, making it ideal for individuals who use the entire surface area of their mattress or who often sit on the edge of the bed. This perimeter support can be attributed to the stronger coils along the edges, which resist excessive sagging.
The edge support allowed our testers, regardless of weight, to comfortably move across the mattress without fear of rolling off or experiencing significant compression near the edges. That said, sleepers in heavier weight categories especially benefited from the sturdy edges. Compared to other hybrid models we’ve tested, the Leesa Plus Hybrid’s edge support stands out, enhancing the bed’s durability and expanding the usable sleep surface.
Our testers found the Leesa Plus Hybrid was very easy to move around on, especially for a bed with foam comfort layers. While the foam provides a moderate amount of cushioning and contouring, it doesn’t inhibit movement as much as some other foam hybrids we’ve tested.
The coil system produces a buoyant feel, which helps sleepers shift or change positions without feeling “stuck” in the mattress. This is particularly beneficial for those who toss and turn a lot at night. The Leesa Plus Hybrid is a good choice for active sleepers or people with reduced mobility.
Off-gassing refers to the initial odor that can emanate from a new mattress after it’s been unboxed, especially when it contains foam and has been compressed and sealed for shipping. Upon unboxing the Leesa Plus Hybrid, our testers noted some off-gassing that is similar to off-gassing we’ve observed in other foam hybrids. The odor may be especially noticeable to individuals who are sensitive to smells.
Our product testers found that giving the Leesa Plus Hybrid a couple of days in a well-ventilated space significantly lessened the odor’s intensity. The odor will eventually dissipate entirely. When compared to other foam hybrid mattresses, the off-gassing from the Leesa Plus Hybrid is fairly typical.

The Leesa Plus Hybrid Mattress is designed to offer an even mix of cushioning and support. With a medium firm feel that rates 6 on our 10-point firmness scale, the mattress hits a sweet spot in firmness levels that works well for a broad range of sleepers.
The Leesa Plus Hybrid is 13 inches high. The breathable cover is composed of polyester and viscose, with handles on each side to help facilitate moving and repositioning the mattress. Underneath the cover is a layer of gel-infused polyfoam that provides plushness on the surface. A second layer of polyfoam offers contouring with a touch of responsiveness, followed by a third polyfoam layer intended to help distribute weight evenly while preventing the body from sinking too deep.
The support core features an 8-inch layer of coils that generate sturdy support. The coils are individually wrapped to reduce motion transfer and noise compared to a traditional innerspring bed. Beneath is a thin layer of high-density polyfoam that provides foundational stability.
All of the foam in the Leesa Plus Hybrid Mattress carries CertiPUR-US certification. The mattress features a fire barrier that is free of fiberglass and chemicals.

Mattress Prices and Sizing
The Leesa Plus Hybrid Mattress carries a high price-point compared to the average mattress on the market. However, when compared specifically with other hybrid models, the price-point is lower than average.
Hybrid mattresses combine a coil support core with comfort layers made of foam or latex. This complex construction is often reflected in the pricing. The Leesa Plus Hybrid has multiple layers and uses various materials, but it is competitively priced with other hybrids. You’ll receive many of the benefits of a hybrid model without paying luxury hybrid prices.
The Leesa Plus Hybrid comes in six standard sizes, from twin to California king, so most shoppers should be able to find a suitable size.

Trial, Warranty, and Shipping Policies
Availability The Leesa Plus Hybrid is available for purchase in the U.S. through Leesa’s online store or from one of Leesa’s retail partners, though in-store availability may vary.
Shipping Leesa ships mattresses for free to all 50 states with FedEx Ground. All Leesa beds are made-to-order in about five to nine business days. Once your new mattress is complete, Leesa compresses, seals, and boxes it for shipping. Shipping times typically range between two and seven business days.
For contact-free delivery, FedEx will leave your package at your doorstep. When you’re ready to set up your new bed, move the box to the bedroom of your choice. Remove the compressed bed from the box and position it on your mattress foundation. Remove the outer layer of plastic, unroll the bed, and remove the inner layer of plastic to allow the bed to expand. The bed will take about an hour to fully expand and possibly several more days to achieve full firmness.
Additional Services For an additional fee, you can add in-home mattress setup and old mattress removal at checkout. After you complete your purchase, Leesa’s service partner will reach out to schedule a delivery date and time. On the day of delivery, an agent will set up your new mattress and remove your old mattress and, if requested, mattress base.
Sleep Trial Leesa offers a 100-night trial for the Plus Hybrid, with a required 30-night break-in period to allow you some time to adjust to the new bed. If you’re unsatisfied after this period, you can initiate a return by contacting Leesa’s support team.
In most cases, Leesa will help you donate the mattress to a local charity. If a donation isn’t feasible, Leesa will assist in the return logistics. The mattress must be returned in clean, undamaged condition. Returns are free in the contiguous U.S., but Leesa charges a $100 fee for returns from Alaska and Hawaii. Note that only one Leesa mattress per household is eligible for a free return.
Warranty The Leesa Plus Hybrid comes with a 10-year limited warranty, valid only for the original owner. This warranty covers defects such as indentations over 1 inch and certain flaws in craftsmanship. The warranty excludes natural softening of the foam, changes in personal comfort preferences, or damage resulting from misuse or use on an unsuitable base.
Products sold as “used” or by unauthorized sellers are not covered. While repairs or replacements are free, the buyer is responsible for transportation or shipping costs. Owners who upgrade to a more expensive replacement must pay the cost difference. The upgraded mattress will receive a new warranty.
