The Endy Mattress is an all-foam bed constructed with three layers of advanced pressure-relieving polyfoam. It’s a medium firm mattress, offering a versatile feel for a wide variety of sleepers.

The Endy Mattress is available exclusively in Canada. It’s made by Endy, a Canadian company that specializes in low-cost mattresses and sleep products. The Endy Mattress, profiled in this review, is their flagship product. Endy is a leader in the Canadian mattress in a box industry, and their flagship Endy Mattress is one of the most popular online mattresses in Canada.

This bed is made of polyfoam, with a dense, 5-inch polyfoam support core and two distinct foam comfort layers. It is 10 inches thick and protected by a removable and machine-washable polyester cover.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the firmest, the Endy measures around a 6. This puts it in a versatile class of mattresses that can be well-suited to a wide variety of sleepers. Available at a moderate price-point, the Endy offers great value.

Side Sleepers

The majority of side sleepers will find the Endy Mattress to be comfortable and supportive. The mattress is best suited to sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds, who tend to be most comfortable on moderately firm beds. The Endy is also well suited to those under 130 pounds, although some will find that the Endy’s firmness puts a bit too much pressure on the shoulders. Generally, though, the Endy’s moderate firmness and low-density comfort layer allows for the right blend of conforming, support, and cushy comfort.

Side sleepers over 230 pounds will likely prefer a firmer mattress, as they may find that the Endy allows for too much sinkage in the shoulder and hip areas.

Back Sleepers

The majority of back sleepers prefer medium firm to firm beds, and the Endy is a solid medium firm, at about a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Most back sleepers under 230 pounds will find the Endy Mattress to be comfortable and supportive. Sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds will likely do better on a firmer mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers tend to prefer firm, highly supportive mattresses. Many stomach sleepers under 230 pounds should find the Endy Mattress to fit their needs rather well. With that said, some stomach sleepers will find that there is too much sagging around the hips with this mattress. For those over 230 pounds, the Endy will likely be too soft to provide adequate support.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

8/10

We found the Endy Mattress to have a strong degree of motion isolation. Movement on one side of the mattress was barely felt at the opposite side, which means that couples should not be disturbed by their partner’s movements on this bed.

The Endy’s all-foam design contributes to its performance in this category. Mattresses made with primarily foam materials tend to transfer less motion than innerspring, hybrid, and latex beds (which have more bounce and responsiveness).

Pressure Relief

8/10

The Endy Mattress performs rather well in terms of pressure relief, particularly for sleepers under 230 pounds. The moderately firm feel of the bed allows for enough conforming to feel comfortable, while also providing adequate support for proper spinal alignment.

Sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds may find that they sink into the Endy Mattress a bit too much for comfort.

Temperature Control

5/10

The Endy Mattress performs decently in this category. The Endy may feel a bit warm on hot nights, but it sleeps cooler than a typical memory foam mattress. That being said, if you tend to sleep warm at night, this may not be the best mattress for you.

Most foam materials tend to trap body heat, often resulting in an uncomfortably hot sleep experience. Solid foam layers restrict airflow, adding to the problem of heat retention. The Endy uses open-cell polyfoam, which has better breathability and is designed to move heat away from the body. People who enjoy the feel of foam mattresses but normally sleep too hot on them should consider the Endy.

Edge Support

6.5/10

The Endy Mattress provides an average amount of edge support.

Most all-foam mattresses lack the firm edge support found in innerspring and hybrid beds, and the Endy is no different. Foam typically does not hold up to compression very well, causing some sinkage when excess pressure is applied in a single area. The Endy’s firmer feel gives it a bit more resistance to overcompression at the edges than other all-foam beds.

Ease of Movement

5/10

The Endy Mattress performs decently well when it comes to ease of movement. This means that it’s relatively easy to change positions and get in and out of bed without too much issue.

The Endy’s moderately firm feel helps make it easier to change positions. The mattress allows for less sinkage than some other foam beds, thanks to its composition of high-density polyfoam materials.

With that said, heavier individuals may have more difficulty moving around, because they will sink further into the foam. The Endy’s average degree of edge support may also make it more difficult to get in and out of the bed.

Off-Gassing

5.5/10

Off-gassing is a normal process that is particularly common in all-foam mattresses. Volatile organic compounds are trapped in the foam materials during the manufacturing process, and are released when the mattress is set up. This odor is generally not considered to be harmful and typically dissipates within a few days to a week.

When evaluating the Endy, we noticed a relatively low amount of off-gassing compared to other foam mattresses we’ve tested. There was still some noticeable odor but nothing we would consider excessive or overly bothersome.

It’s worth noting that the Endy has received a GREENGUARD Gold certification, which indicates the mattress meets strict standards for volatile organic chemical (VOC) emissions. Endy was the first Canadian mattress company to earn this certification. VOCs are a common source of off-gassing odor for foam mattresses.

Endy Mattress Review Breakdown

The Endy Mattress is designed to be a versatile, affordable, and well-rounded mattress for a wide variety of sleepers. Its all-foam composition provides excellent motion isolation, keeping movement on one side of the bed from disturbing the opposite side. Its moderate firmness (6 out of 10) makes it a great option for a wide variety of sleeping positions and comfort preferences.

The Endy Mattress is an all-foam bed. It uses polyfoam materials of varying densities to achieve a balanced blend of performance and comfort.

The Endy features a 5-inch thick support core of high-density polyfoam, which provides the underlying support for the mattress. This layer helps to stabilize the entire bed, providing deep compression support and helping to keep the sleeper’s body properly aligned.

A 3-inch transitional layer of high-density polyfoam sits on top of the support core. This layer acts as a buffer, preventing sleepers from sinking in too deeply. The transitional layer is just as dense as the support core, but it has a somewhat softer feel.

On top of the transitional layer sits a 2-inch comfort layer made of open-cell polyfoam. This lower-density foam feels significantly softer than the support and transitional layers, and is responsible for the bed’s medium firm feel. The use of open-cell polyfoam instead of memory foam makes this layer a bit bouncier, as well as notably more breathable than comparable memory foam comfort layers.

The Endy Mattress is protected by a soft and stretchy cover made of 97% polyester and 3% spandex. The mattress cover can be easily removed and is machine-washable. This is a notable benefit for those concerned with the cleanliness of their bed, as removable mattress covers are not exactly common.

There is only one version of the Endy Mattress available at this time – the medium firm model, which is approximately a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. There are no mattress modifications that alter the Endy’s price, however, there are a variety of accessories available. Optional add-ons include a bed frame, mattress protector, pillows, and sheets.

Mattress Prices and Sizing

The Endy Mattress is priced a bit more affordably than many competing all-foam models. Based on its quality and performance compared to its price point, our analysis found that the Endy presents a very good value overall.

The price difference between the various sizes is also quite small. Compared to some other brands, this pricing structure makes the larger sizes of the Endy Mattress a better value.
