A mattress that isolates motion well prevents movement from transferring across the bed. Typically, all-foam mattresses absorb movement instead of transferring it, which can be beneficial for couples, light sleepers, and those who share their bed with kids or pets.
Like most all-foam models, the Cocoon Chill Mattress minimizes the spread of vibrations. The all-foam layers, especially the memory foam, provide a hugging sensation that prevents disturbances from transferring across the surface. Tossing and turning on the Cocoon Chill Mattress is unlikely to wake up your partner.

Sealy has designed the Cocoon Chill with temperature neutrality in mind, including several features engineered to keep the mattress cooler than some all-foam models. It’s a versatile mattress that is well suited to a wide variety of sleepers.
We will take an in-depth look at the mattress’ construction, components, pricing, and performance ratings as well as company policies on warranties and shipping to help you decide whether the Cocoon Chill Mattress is a good fit for you.

Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
Side sleepers typically have the most significant pressure points of all the sleeper types. When you lay on your side, the majority of your weight rests on your hips and shoulders, which can create uncomfortable pressure buildup.
Side sleepers generally prefer a mattress with a mix of contouring relief and stable support. The Cocoon Chill does both these things well. Its memory foam comfort layer molds to a side sleeper’s body and spreads out its weight to ease pressure points, while the supportive polyfoam transition layer and core limit sinkage.
Because of its medium firm feel, the Cocoon Chill may be best suited for side sleepers who weigh over 130 pounds. Side sleepers who weigh under 130 pounds may notice more pressure accumulation around their hips and shoulders since they won’t sink in as deeply.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers generally prefer to feel as if they’re “sleeping on” a mattress instead of “sleeping in” one. Sinking too far into a mattress can cause discomfort for a back sleeper, especially since their hips could dip more deeply into the mattress than the rest of their body and put pressure on their lower back. The best mattress for back sleepers is often one that gently cradles the hips while providing enough support to align the spine.
Thanks to the Cocoon Chill’s memory foam comfort layer, a back sleeper’s hips should be able to sink in just a bit. Support from the polyfoam transition layer and core help promote healthy sleep posture.
The Cocoon Chill performed well for back sleepers of all weights, especially those between 130 and 230 pounds. Back sleepers under 130 pounds may not enjoy as much cradling as they’d like, while those who weigh over 230 pounds could experience some sinkage around their hips.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need extra support in order to maintain spinal alignment and stay comfortable. A mattress that’s too soft can allow a stomach sleeper’s midsection to sink into the support core, which can put a strain on their lower back. A mattress on the firmer side prevents this by providing even support.
Stomach sleepers across all weight groups found the Cocoon Chill supportive enough to maintain a comfortable position throughout the night. The polyfoam transition layer and support core keep the mattress true to its medium firm rating and help prevent the sleeper’s midsection from sinking in too deeply, while the memory foam comfort layer adds some softness to the surface.

Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Cocoon Chill Mattress Review Breakdown
The Cocoon Chill Mattress is an all-foam model that rates as a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, making it medium firm. This feel makes it well suited to a variety of body types and sleep positions. The mattress has three foam layers that are each designed with different purposes for a balanced performance with both support and contouring. It also includes an innovative cover that’s engineered to sleep cool. The Cocoon Chill measures 10 inches tall, so it shouldn’t require deep pocket sheets.
A high-density polyfoam support core is stable, supportive, and engineered for durability. The polyfoam transitional layer sits on top of the support core. It is fairly firm to help prevent sleepers from sinking in against the firmer support layer. Since it is responsive and bounces quickly back to its original shape, this layer also improves the overall ease of movement.
The memory foam comfort layer conforms closely to the body to provide contouring and pressure point relief. As a fairly low-density memory foam, it tends to retain less heat. However, low-density foam is also typically less durable.
One of the Cocoon Chill’s most notable features is its knit cover, which is infused with phase change material designed to regulate body temperature. This material is engineered to absorb and dissipate excess body heat to keep your mattress surface cool throughout the night. Combined with the low-density memory foam layer, the Cocoon Chill sleeps cool when compared to other memory foam mattresses.

Mattress Prices and Sizing
The Cocoon Chill’s price-point is around average compared to other all-foam mattresses, which typically run $900 to $1,200 for a queen. Sealy also offers the Cocoon Chill in a hybrid version, which is more expensive than the all-foam model but costs less than average for a similarly constructed mattress. Considering the materials and cooling technologies included in the bed, the all-foam Cocoon Chill may be a good option for value seekers.
The mattress is available for purchase in the six standard sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. Sealy offers optional sheet and pillow bundles that are designed to complement the mattress. You can also add-on a compatible bed base or foundation.

The Cocoon Chill is backed by a nontransferable 10-year limited warranty. The warranty covers manufacturer defects that arise with normal use on a proper foundation. Eligible defects include indentations more than 1-inch deep and physical flaws, like tearing of the mattress cover. In the event that Sealy confirms a covered defect, the company will elect to either repair or replace the mattress. Additional terms and conditions apply.
